Professionally, I’m an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at McGill University, the Desautels Faculty of Management. No one usually knows what organizational behavior is, so suffice to say we’re the sociologists within the business school and leave it at that. I study labor markets, careers, jobs, labor unions, and discrimination.
Personally, I’m an American whom people keep thinking moved to Canada because of the Trump Administration, but who actually came for work. I’m a mutt who grew up shuttling between New Jersey and Texas, which is why I speak with neither accent today. I spend my off hours helping people repair their bicycles, riding my own bike, trying to learn to knit, studying French, and surviving winter in Québéc.
